luke
We
are a small family business in the rolling hills and farm country of
Upstate New York that value the people we work with and our customers
who share our love of garlic. We hand pick our scapes and they are processed
by the hands of Mennonite women known for their work ethic. Our scapes
have been so popular we are slowly expanding while keeping our values
in place and giving even more local people seasonal employment. And
now we can ship to our customers around the world. Order our fine products

The
name Luke was chosen after researching the deeds to the Mill Creek Farm
from the 1850s. Luke owned the Sawmill Yard Farm and Mill Creek
Farm property is a portion of that original farm. Mill Creek refers
to the creek that runs through my property that was damned to supply
waterpower for the sawmill.
I wanted the product to reflect the heritage and tradition of this
farm. I feel the name Luke reflects honesty, steadfastness and
commitment, which is a hallmark of these quality products
Pickled Garlic Scapes - the recipe
I developed my recipe and produced the first trial batch in my kitchen
using the help of my family members. During my childhood, my parents
taught us how to can and pickle the produce grown on my grandfather's
farm. Luke's Pickled Garlic Scapes are made from fresh New York State
grown garlic and then pickled using Luke's exclusive recipe. We tame
the curly stalked scape by canning it with liquid, peppers and spices.
Enjoy them straight out of the jar. Find out more about garlic scapes
